Privacy Policy

Effective: August 14, 2026 App: WakeJoy (com.wakejoy) Publisher: Jobito

In plain language

01 Scope

This policy explains how WakeJoy, a motivational alarm-clock app published by Jobito (the "Powered by Jobito" family of apps), handles information when you install and use it, on any device, in any country. It applies to the Android app distributed via Google Play under the package id com.wakejoy, and to any other store listing of the same app.

By using WakeJoy you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

02 What we don't collect

WakeJoy has no user accounts, no login, and no backend server. There is nothing for us to store about you outside of your own device. Concretely, we (Jobito) never receive:

  • Your name, email address, or any account/profile information
  • The alarms you create, the personality/style you pick, or the custom ringtone you choose
  • Your precise location
  • Contacts, photos, messages, or any other files beyond the single audio file you may pick as a custom ringtone (which is copied locally on your device and never uploaded)

All of the above lives exclusively in the app's local storage on your device and is deleted automatically when you uninstall WakeJoy.

03 Third-party services

WakeJoy uses two Google services to keep the app free and to offer an optional "Remove ads" purchase. These services operate under Google's own privacy terms, not ours — we don't control what they collect, only that we've configured them as described below.

Google AdMob

Shows a small banner on the home screen and, at most once a day, a full-screen ad after you dismiss an alarm. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier, general device and network information, and approximate (non-precise) location to select and measure ads.

Google Play Billing

Handles the one-time "Remove ads" purchase. Google processes your payment and stores the transaction/purchase record — WakeJoy only receives a confirmation that unlocks the ad-free state on your device.

On-device Text-to-Speech

When you choose "Voice" or "Both" for a wake-up message, WakeJoy asks your Android system's text-to-speech engine to read it aloud. Whether that happens fully on-device or via a cloud engine depends on the TTS engine installed on your phone, outside WakeJoy's control.

Consent for ads (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

Where required by law, WakeJoy shows a consent form — built on Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) — before requesting any ad, and won't request personalized ads without your consent. You can revisit that choice any time from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the app.

ServiceData it may processLearn more

04 App permissions

WakeJoy requests a handful of Android permissions, all used strictly to make alarms reliable — none of them send data anywhere:

PermissionWhy WakeJoy needs it
Exact alarmsRing at the precise minute you set, even if the app isn't open
NotificationsShow the alarm notification and its full-screen wake-up screen
Run at startupRe-arm your alarms after the phone restarts
Ignore battery optimizationsPrevent the system from delaying or killing a scheduled alarm
VibrationVibrate the phone when an alarm rings
Storage / file accessCopy a music file you personally pick as a custom ringtone — stays on your device

05 Storage & retention

Alarms, chosen personality/language, theme, and message history are stored using standard on-device local storage (Android SharedPreferences). None of it is backed up to any Jobito server, because none exists. This data is retained for as long as WakeJoy is installed, and removed automatically when you uninstall the app.

Data handled by AdMob or Google Play Billing is retained according to Google's own retention policies, linked in Section 3.

06 Children's privacy

WakeJoy is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us via Section 11 and we'll take appropriate action.

07 Your rights

European Economic Area, UK & Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Because WakeJoy keeps no account or server-side record tied to you, most of your data is already entirely in your own hands: uninstalling the app permanently deletes it. For ad-related data processed by Google, you can withdraw consent any time via Settings → Ad privacy options, or manage it directly at Google's Ad Center.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. As described above, Jobito itself holds no personal information about you. Ad personalization through AdMob may be considered "sharing" under the CCPA — you can opt out at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options.

Everywhere else

Wherever you are, you can always reach out using the contact details in Section 11 with any question or request about your data.

08 Security

Because your alarm data never leaves your device, its security is largely tied to your device's own security (lock screen, OS updates). Any data exchanged with Google's AdMob or Billing services travels over encrypted connections managed by Google.

09 International data transfers

Google's AdMob and Play Billing services may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States, under Google's own cross-border transfer safeguards.

10 Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally, especially before a major app update.
